Bloomberg reported last Wednesday on the White House’s new initiative to promote electric heat pumps as an energy saving tool. AirBnB, Lyft, and Procter and Gamble have been tapped to mobilize further production and installation of the heating systems, which save energy by moving heat from cool to warm areas, instead of generating it by burning fossil fuels. This was part of a larger move by the White House on Wednesday to push for Inflation Reduction Act goals, announcing over $13 billion in assistance aimed at lowering utility expenses, promoting union jobs, and hitting climate goals. Heat pumps are evidently a big component of this plan.
