Newly constructed green buildings confer many benefits, but often it is more feasible and effective to retrofit existing buildings to be more energy efficient. Last month, the MIT Technology Review covered the New York City Housing Authority’s Clean Heat for All Challenge, which is soliciting efficient heat-pump designs from manufacturers based on this principle.
